So I'm back in Maine and today I've been working on a research paper about Noam Chomsky. I came across the sentence "Colorless Green Ideas Sleep Furiously." which Chomsky famously used to illustrate that a sentence can be grammatically correct and semantically nonsensical. The sentence is the better-known part of this passage:
1) Colorless green ideas sleep furiously.
2) Furiously sleep green colorless ideas.
So, I made the little illustration at the top of the page, and then I wrote a poem based on the structure. It has 8 couplets because today is the 8th of February. Makes sense right?
Temped garish face holds freely.
Freely holds temped garish face.
Carved lunar swan roams glibly.
Glibly roams lunar carved swan.
Married windy cabin turns quickly.
Quickly turns windy married cabin.
Fetid sluggish bones eat sanely.
Sanely eat sluggish fetid bones.
Swift rancid cat naps lushly.
Lushly naps rancid swift cat.
Fat blue beacon dances aimlessly.
Aimlessly dances blue fat beacon.
Iron square plate leaps becomingly.
Becomingly leaps square iron plate.
Electronic craggy tides yell loudly.
Loudly yell craggy electronic tides.
